Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July!

Our Society of St. Vincent de Paul will hold their annual Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, July 12th, from 11 AM to 1 PM.  Tickets are $8 for a juicy inch-thick grilled Pork Chop, Baked Potato, Seasoned Green Beans, Apple Sauce and Pudding, or pay $12 to get an extra pork chop!  This is a carry-out dinner.  You can take Adair Street to the alley behind the church to pickup your dinners and you won't even have to get out of your car!   Tickets are available from any Vincentian or at the Rectory.  You can also email us here at cyril@catholicweb.com and we will get tickets to you.  Proceeds will be used to help those in need here in the North Judson - San Pierre area.

Eucharistic Adoration
takes place every Sunday morning from 8:30 AM until 10:20 AM.  "How great is the value of conversation with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for advancing along the road of holiness!" -
Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available here at Saints Cyril and Methodius Saturdays after 8:30 AM Mass and from 3:00 to 4 PM, and during Eucharistic Adoration on Sunday mornings.  Confessions at All Saints in San Pierre are on Saturdays from 5:15 to 5:45 PM and Sundays from 8:15 to 8:45 AM.

If you know of someone in need of prayer by our Parish Prayer Chain, contact Alma Jean at 896-2556.

Are you a Catholic who has been away from the Church for a while? Maybe it’s been quite a few years since you have been to Mass. Maybe you left because someone or something made you angry. Maybe you just stopped going and would now feel uncomfortable going back. Maybe you would like to go back, but don’t know what to do. You think things have changed and you would feel out of place. If you have a Bible handy, read Luke chapter 15. Coming home after being away is a cause for great joy and celebration.  If you still have doubts or questions, visit the Catholics Come Home website, or you can call the Rectory at 896-2195 and make an appointment to talk.

The right to life is the greatest civil rights issue of our time.  This is the issue that will determine whether America remains a hospitable society, committed to caring for women in crisis and their unborn children, committed to caring for those with special needs, committed to caring for the elderly and the dying -- or whether America betrays our heritage and the truths on which its Founders staked their claim to independence.  - Archbishop Edwin F. O'Brien, October 1, 2007.

Knowing and understanding the Catholic Faith is so important to our spiritual growth. If you are a Catholic who wants to learn more about the faith, or maybe a non-Catholic who is curious but reluctant or unable to find someone to help you, here are a couple of easy ways to learn on your own. Catholic Home Study Service offers 8 FREE home study courses. You receive a textbook and workbook with study questions. You can send your workbook answers in by mail or over the Internet where any corrections can be made and your questions will be answered. There is no charge for the course, and no one will call on you.

Or, for a mere $5 per month, you can sign up for for a monthly infusion of inspiration and truth from world renowned Catholic Speakers on CD! Visit Lighthouse Catholic Media to learn how!

Check the Online Calendar for a complete schedule of meetings and events this week.

Our local Society of St. Vincent de Paul exists to assist those in need.. If you or someone you know of, needs help in the North Judson - San Pierre Area, call (574) 249-0162. This is a local call from North Judson (just dial 249-0162). Because this is a cell phone, messages are occasionally lost or difficult to understand. If you do not receive a reply to your message within a few hours, either call again or phone the Rectory at 896-2195.

How can I find what the Catholic Church really teaches and why?
The late Bishop Fulton J. Sheen once said that "not 100 in the United States hate the Roman Catholic Church, but millions hate what they mistakenly think the Roman Catholic Church is." Indeed, there are many misconceptions about what the Catholic Church teaches. Click on Links for the truth.
