Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King
& Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
This Sunday, we celebrate the sovereignty of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the ultimate King from whom all earthly authority is derived. The Solemnity marks the last Sunday in the liturgical calendar and was entered by Pope Pius XI in 1925 in response to the rise of Communism, Facism and Colonialism. We are reminded that governmental authority is authority held in trust. Jesus Christ is our true King and we are all subject to Him, something we should keep in mind when determining the role of goverment in our lives today.
Eucharistic Adoration takes place every Sunday morning from 8:30 AM until 10:20 AM. "How great is the value of conversation with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for advancing along the road of holiness!" - Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank everyone who supported our beef raffle and bake sale. Proceeds will help those in need with food, shelter, and utilities. Winners of the corn-fed beef quarters donated by Skronski Farms were Cindy Vessely and Joann Vitallo. Our Christmas Bazaar will be Saturday, December 5th. Homemade soup and crackers will be available. Please mark your calendar!
Bishop Fulton J. Sheen once said, "not 100 in the United States hate the Roman Catholic Church, but millions hate what they mistakenly think the Roman Catholic is." Classes in the Catholic Faith begin this week on Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at the Rectory. Explore the true Church that Jesus Christ founded 2000 years ago. Everyone is welcome. There is no obligation. Send email questions to cyril@catholicweb.com for more information.
Monday, November 9th, was the Feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran. The Basilica is the Cathedral for the Diocese of Rome where the Pope serves as Bishop. To mark the occasion, the Vatican website launched a virtual 360 degree tour of the Basilica. The tour was created by professors and students from Villanova University in Pennsylvania, a project they started in February and completed in October. To view the tour, start here. Select an area, then click and drag your mouse to pan the camera view.
Marriage does not always follow the happily ever after formula popular in the media. Most couples whose marriages end in divorce are people who never learned the proper tools for a happy marriage and became overwhelmed in disillusionment or misery. Couples in Retrouvaille learn to move from Misery to Awakening with learnable skills, attitudes and tools to combat the inevitable problems of the real world. Do not lose hope! Awakening is only a phone call away. Call 1-800-470-2230. Your call can remain anonymous and will not be subject to third party discussion. Call for dates and weekend locations or visit www. retrouvaille.org.

Are you a Catholic who has been away from the Church for a while? Maybe it’s been quite a few years since you have been to Mass. Maybe you left because someone or something made you angry. Maybe you just stopped going and would now feel uncomfortable going back. Maybe you would like to go back, but don’t know what to do. You think things have changed and you would feel out of place. If you have a Bible handy, read Luke chapter 15. Coming home after being away is a cause for great joy and celebration. If you still have doubts or questions, visit the Catholics Come Home website, or you can call the Rectory at 896-2195 and make an appointment to talk.
